Everyday Hero Energy Balls Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup natural peanut butter (or any nut butter of preference)
  • 1/3 cup honey or maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup ground flax seeds (optional for extra nutrition)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Optional add-ins: chia seeds, protein powder, or a sprinkle of cinnamon

Instructions:

  1. Mix Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the oats, chocolate chips, peanut butter, honey, vanilla extract, flax seeds (if using), and salt. Stir until everything is thoroughly mixed. If the mixture feels too dry, add a bit more honey or peanut butter to help it stick together.
  2. Chill: Place the bowl in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes. This helps the mixture firm up, making it easier to shape.
  3. Form Balls: Once chilled, take the mixture out of the fridge. Scoop out dough with a spoon or cookie scoop and roll it into balls. Aim for about 1 inch in diameter.
  4. Final Chill: Place the rolled balls on a baking sheet or large plate lined with parchment paper. Refrigerate again for about 30 minutes to set.
  5. Store: Keep your energy balls in an airtight container in the refrigerator. They should last for up to a week, or you can freeze them for longer storage
