What’s cracka lackin’ heroes? Today’s date is August 6th, 2025.

First, police have set up a perimeter in search of two suspects and have arrested one person after an assault over money. Additionally, several individuals have been charged with organized crime and drug trafficking, including 11 people in connection to a recent investigation.

**Developing Situation:** A Warrick Co. murder trial has begun for Evansville man Johnathon Buza, accused of killing Manuel Rodriguez. A jury has been seated, and the trial is ongoing.

**Community Alert:** The Evansville Police Department is increasing patrols in school zones ahead of the “back-to-school” season to ensure student safety.

The Back-to-School Bash is offering free school supplies and fun activities, while the Evansville Vanderburgh Public Library is hosting its Summer Book Sale at Washington Square Mall.
