Man, if I were still alive, I would say you Everyday Heroes are always in the middle of the action! Here’s your daily dose of important updates:
First up, urgent safety measures are in place for the upcoming weekend storm and flood risks in Evansville. Just two days ago, sandbags were distributed to locals by Mulzer Crushed Stone, Inc. in partnership with the Evansville-Vanderburgh County EMA. If you’re heading into the field, keep your wits about you, especially given the severe weather that’s already toppled quite a few trees and damaged roofs across the city.
Next, shifting gears to max vigilance mode—the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office is beefing up patrols to tackle speeding and distracted driving. This statewide traffic safety campaign runs from April 5 to April 19. We’ll need you to be extra watchful on the roads over the coming days.
Lastly, there’s an ongoing investigation into an in-custody death at the Vanderburgh County Jail. Jail officers and on-site medical staff made efforts using an Automated External Defibrillator, but unfortunately, the individual was confirmed deceased after transport to a local hospital. Stay alert for any developments and support the community as needed.
Stay sharp, Everyday Heroes!
