Daily Report

Whaddaya know, hero? It’s January 7th, 2026! Not a bad start to the new year, but there are some crime stories that caught my eye.

First off, we’ve got a pretty disturbing story from Vanderburgh County. A mother of a 9-year-old boy has been charged with his murder after he was found dead in a storage facility. The kid’s dad was actually brought back to Evansville last year after serving time in Daviess County. This one’s definitely worth keeping an eye on.

Next up, Indiana lawmakers are considering an anti-doxing bill after some lawmakers received threats of violence and intimidation. Vaneta Becker from Evansville told the Senate’s Corrections and Criminal Law committee that targeted lawmakers included both those for and against redistricting plans.

And finally, there’s been a pretty interesting story about a couple linked to the death of his 9-year-old son. Chyanne Porter pleaded guilty to abuse of a corpse, tampering with physical evidence, and two counts of criminal abuse of a child under 12 years old. It turns out they treated their other kids better than the deceased one… yeah, that’s not going to fly.

That’s all for now, hero! Stay vigilant out there!
